These photographs are part of a trip to a local firefighting situation survey and a waste disposal site survey before the basic design (B / D) of a government development assistance project (ODA project).
The waste treatment plant was clean with a little waste. When I went on a business trip, I did not feel any odor in the waste treatment plant because it was a dry season. There were basically no waste in the waste treatment plant, as local people did not throw away anything easily.
On the other hand, the Harare Fire Department's maintenance plant is very well managed, and it mainly used the British manufacturer DENNIS fire engine.

Most of the vehicles were made by E-ONE, a US fire manufacturer.
The fire department was well organized, with control room, maintenance plant and complete repair parts.

I traveled to Tanzania several times. First, in order to launch a new waste treatment plant construction project, I surveyed the site where there was a treatment plant before.
At that time, in this country, even if there was a lot of rubbish, poor people came to the rubbish pile and picked up everything they could use.
Thus, artificially, it felt like recycling was being done in their lives.
On the other hand, the fire department in Dar es Salaam, the capital city, regarding the fire situation, the maintenance status of fire fighting vehicles was very bad. Only firefighting vehicles using SCANIA chassis were in operation.

These photos are part of a business trip from Senegal to the Rabat fire department.
At that time, Morocco was out of the ODA target countries.
All vehicles provided were made by CAMIVA, a French fire manufacturer. The Fire Department was well organized, had a maintenance plant and was fully equipped with repair parts.
This fire department is considered to be the same situation now. We asked the Fire Department about using Japanese-made fire fighting vehicles.
The fire department's answer is, "If you can even fix the fittings to fit the Stoise type, We would like to use a Japanese-made fire engine. However, because we already use these French vehicles and adapt the system to them. It is difficult to use Japanese-made vehicles. "
